HumanitZ Vehicles Guide: How to Find, Repair & Use Cars to Move Faster and Carry More Loot

Vehicles are one of the most powerful survival tools in HumanitZ. Getting a car up and running lets you cover the map faster, escape zombie hordes, and haul far more loot than you ever could on foot. This complete guide walks you through everything — from spotting a drivable car to repairing it and maximizing its cargo potential.
Finding a Drivable Vehicle in HumanitZ: Roads, Spawns & What to Look For. Cars spawn all across the main roads and near residential areas in HumanitZ. The easiest way to tell if a car is drivable is to interact with its hood — if you can open it and see the engine compartment, the vehicle is usable. Your starter spawn also has a guaranteed car nearby, though you may still need to track down parts and fuel before hitting the road. Thematic spawns matter too: head to a police station and you stand a solid chance of finding a Police SUV waiting for you.
Required Car Parts: What You Need to Get Rolling. Before a vehicle moves an inch, you must install four core components: a Fan Belt, a Fuel Pump, a Car Battery, and a Starter Motor. On top of that, the car must be fueled up using a Fuel Can. Each vehicle also has its own unique stats — acceleration, top speed, braking power, tire grip, durability, fuel tank capacity, fuel economy, and trunk size all vary from model to model, so choose wisely based on your playstyle.
How to Repair a Vehicle in HumanitZ: Kits, Condition & the Engine Bay. To repair a car’s overall condition, approach the engine bay at the front of the vehicle (or the rear, if you’re working on a Zombiegini) and press F to interact. Using a Repair Kit here restores the car’s overall condition and repairs all four installed parts by 5% each. Note: the red Repair Kit is for vehicles only — don’t confuse it with the green Gun Repair Kit, which is for weapons. Always carry a spare Repair Kit on your runs, since even a fully repaired car can take damage from zombies and rough terrain.
Mechanic Class Bonus: Repair Faster and Better. If you choose the Mechanic profession, your repair efficiency gets a major upgrade. The overall car condition restoration rate increases by 1.5 times, and each of the four installed parts is repaired by 15% per kit instead of the standard 5%. Mechanics can also use a screwdriver to repair Fuel Pumps and Starter Motors directly, and can salvage a guaranteed component from wrecked cars — a huge advantage in long-term survival runs.
Fueling Your Vehicle: Where to Find the Fuel Port. To refuel, locate the fueling port — on most vehicles it sits at the left rear, though the Box Truck places it on the middle-right side. Stand in front of the port and press F to transfer fuel from your Fuel Can into the tank, or siphon fuel back out when needed. The amount of fuel delivered depends on your Fuel Can’s capacity. You can also craft Fuel Cans using 2 Oil, 4 Bottles of Liquor, and 1 Empty Fuel Can if you’re running low on supplies.
Where to Find Car Parts: Looting, Crafting & CB Radio Traders. Car parts spawn in garages, sheds, Auto Shops, and Self Storage containers around the map. If you’re lucky, you can contact a specialist car-parts trader via CB Radio who stocks Fan Belts, Fuel Pumps, Car Batteries, Starter Motors, Repair Kits, and Fuel Cans — all at 100% condition. Repair Kits can also be crafted, though producing them in bulk is tricky since they require a Car Battery as a crafting material. Enable loot respawn in your game settings to ensure parts never run dry over long playthroughs.
Using Vehicles to Carry More Loot: Trunk Capacity & Choosing the Right Car. Not all vehicles are built the same when it comes to storage. Vans and larger vehicles like the Box Truck offer significantly bigger trunk capacities, making them ideal for serious looting runs. Weigh up each car’s durability against its cargo space — tougher vehicles like the APC take far more punishment before breaking down, while lighter cars are easier to repair on the go. Use the right vehicle for the job, keep a Repair Kit in your inventory, and you’ll dominate the HumanitZ map.
